Stacey photographs the landscape from trains, planes, automobiles, and on foot. For the past decade, she has captured the American Landscape while travelling on Amtrak trains. As a visual artist, she is inspired by the rolling imagery and the challenge of capturing stillness while in motion. She has exhibited widely over the past twenty years, teaches for the Fralin Museum of Art, and is a recipient of a 2010 Puffin Foundation grant for her “I Ride Trains” project. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with her husband and fellow artist John Grant.
